How to get that white Christmas Smile

The time has come for all of those pictures with family and friends.  We are getting into the Holiday season and we are all generally gathering more with family, friends, and co-workers to do our holiday traditions.  This means that so many of us will be enjoying more of those seasonal treats than normal. This is a time to snack and drink all of those yummy enjoyable things. But during this time we have all seen an increase in the number of pictures taken as well.  We all remember a bad picture that was taken or the ones where people have really yellow teeth and everyone smirks or make fun of them.  Sometimes that person is you and you are the one embarrassed for a whole year and hope that the next year everyone simply forgets.  But if they don't then this is a huge time to be sad.  So to get out of that possibility let's go over some ways to keep a super bright smile on your face and in your heart as those pictures are taken.

Now part of making sure that your Christmas smile is on point this year is going to deal with how you schedule your dental routines. The fact is that your teeth will not magically get white on their own and most of our eating diets and habits are actually not great for our teeth.  That means you have to intentionally make time to work on your teeth.  That generally only takes 5 minutes or so a day, but that time has to actually be scheduled and be used on your teeth.  The thought of having white teeth for the holidays to me is worth taking five minutes a day to do my tooth brushing and flossing.  But it really took me some time to be able to dedicate that time.

The way to dedicated time to your teeth and to make sure you are brushing and flossing it to make habits of it.  It can literally take 30 days to set a habit in stone for your life and it is worth doing.  If you want a bright smile this is the start and it is a habit of brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time.  That is how it all begins and the American Dental Association would agree that this is what is needed to keep a healthy set of chompers.  now for me I used a cell phone alarm and set it twice a day for a month.  It was easy to do and I put a nice jingle on it to remind me it was time to get my Christmas pictures right this year.

What I did was add in a nice tooth whitening toothpaste into my routine.  IT was a charcoal-based toothpaste that helped to scrub away all the bad things and keep my mouth nice and bright. But this does not work overnight.  This is a habit and routine you need to start a month or two before the holiday season to see the brightness shine through.  There are many other ways to whiten your teeth, but this is certainly the best for me because it is all-natural and doesn't cause my mouth any pain or sensitivity.
